The electrical system is one of MagGregors weak points, though some of the problem can be attributed to previous owners. Regardless, it needs to be completely removed, redesigned and rebuilt. The "panel" was protected by a single fuse, and the whole thing was buried under panels, behind the winch. Circuits had been added using lamp cord and wire nuts, neither of which should be anywhere near a boat. The new switch panel will be located higher and mounted on a hinged bulkhead for easier access and maintenance.
