This shot shows part of the problem with this boat. The previous owner was a skilled cabinetmaker, but he didn't realize that boats are a different animal. The stern boarding ladder was custom made of (I think) walnut, but after five years of neglect it was completely rotten and falling off of the boat. The same story could be told on every piece of exterior wood on the boat...
it was all rotten past the point of salvage.
